Will the chiller increase my electricity bill?Updated a month ago

No! Our standard water chiller uses just 280 watts per hour, while the PRO chiller uses 500 watts. This only occurs when the chiller is actively cooling, as the thermostat controls operation, and both the pump and compressor are running.

The pump runs 24/7 to circulate water, while the compressor cools the water until it reaches your chosen temperature. After that, the compressor usually runs for only 20–30 minutes each hour to maintain the temperature, using roughly one-third of the power.

For example, at a room temperature of 25°C and a chiller setting of 8°C, the chiller consumes around 1.4–1.8 kWh per day. At an average UK electricity cost of 34p per kWh, this works out to roughly 50–60p per day to run The Pod Chiller continuously. (Actual costs may vary depending on local climate and temperatures.)
